….March 25, 2022
Last weekend we were worried that Tonguely might get into some more trouble at College Royal at the University of Guelph. Well we were right. After making a few new friends he managed to go joy riding in a tractor.

….Kevin wanted me to post this one last Tuesday
Tuesday was a tough day for us. We heard that we were in contact with COVID on the weekend and we needed to take some rapid antigen tests. We’re leaving for France in two weeks and today our daughter is visiting from New Brunswick. The good news is that we’ve all tested negative.
So this bird was named Ticked Off Tuesday. Does he look a bit miffed?

….and one is a sunflower
I think I complained that I couldn’t paint sunflowers. Well I persisted and the smaller of the two paintings features a sunflower. Both paintings started out as large pieces that I ended up cutting down in size and painted over what I had already done. It took several tries but I’m finally happy with the final outcome.

Here’s a photo with both matted and framed and sitting side by side.
….he found College Royal but I think he took a wrong turn
Hopefully he won’t get into any more trouble but there’s still another day left before the open house comes to an end.

Do you have any idea what kind of trouble he might get into?
…Tonguely’s been MIA for awhile on this blog
This weekend is the annual College Royal Open House at the University of Guelph. This is where my husband, Kevin and I first met. I was a student and he was visiting a friend who lived next door to me. We hooked up pretty quickly and he enrolled in the university the following semester. College Royal was always one of our favourite activities. We both belonged to a drama club, Curtain Call, that put on student written and produced shows every year during College Royal. Every year Collage Royal attracts about 30 000 visitors. https://www.collegeroyalsociety.com/
Now, as for Tonguely he seems to be missing. We’re pretty sure he wants to be there. Hope he’s not getting into any trouble.
….more trios from nature and one surprise
Sorry I’m a day late. I was having issues uploading my photos yesterday. I you’d like to share some photos of trios, I’d love to see them. Copy my link and paste it into your post. I’ll get a pingback and I’ll be sure to leave a comment.

….bringing you up to date
After struggling with my two larger paintings I’ve finally found a solutions that I’m happy with. Originally I wanted to do something in the colours of the Ukrainian flag but it just wasn’t working for me.

Then I decided to paint over the entire two pieces with white and blue. I kept adding more paint and again I wasn’t happy.

Finally I covered most of the paper with white and then I cut up the paper into 4 smaller pieces. I added marks to start my intuitive process and then I began to lay down colour.

I’m already starting to feel better and two of the four pieces are started.

One piece is almost done. The one below is probably 90% finished but I’m going to give it another day or so before I declare it ready for framing. It already looks quite a bit different from what you’re seeing.
Remember this is not the finished piece.
