On Saturday my husband I took a trip to Ball’s Falls Conservation Area. During our walk we came across this lovely heritage site owned by Mr. Ball and his family back in the 1800s. The windows pictured here are from the grist mill where grains were ground to make flour and the St. George Anglican Church which was moved to the site when the parish had to build a bigger church back in the 1960s. The actual move took place in 1974.

International Handwriting Day

…January 23rd was International Handwriting Day

I know I’m now a couple of days late to make this announcement but at the time I thought it was interesting. Handwriting really has become a lost art. In honour of the day I created a simple piece of art and second abstract piece.

Cheer Up – January Squares

Nothing cheers me up more that a bouquet of fresh flowers. Two of my favourites are these mini irises and yellow tulips.

Of course my granddaughters cheer me up even when I can only see them over the phone. Today is a special day in our family. It is Sevin’s first birthday today. We’re getting ready for a Zoom birthday party in the next few minutes.

Pull Up a Seat Challenge – Week 4

The temperatures are finally beginning to fall and with that comes abandoned outdoor seating. Over in London, where my family has to work from home, even a spot at the end of the bed becomes a seat to work from and in the case of our granddaughter the floor under a desk is good spot to sit so that she can be close to her Papa.

These two lovelies are my granddaughters, Winnie and Sevin. Winnie is five and Sevin turns one tomorrow. Happy Birthday, sweet girl!

Making Art is a Family Affair

….today was a very productive day for art making

Not only did I complete two more watercolour abstracts but my husband made three more paintings and our granddaughter made a drawing with her mother after watching a youtube video.
