One Word Sunday – Summer

….thanks to Debbie Smyth from Travel With Intent for hosting OWS

Summer for me is the cottage. With preparing for the my solo art show, hanging the show, attending the gallery to greet people and now closing the show I have yet to get to my summer home. There have been other issues as well, such as not being able to get to the island because the the ferry broke down, was repaired and then broke down again. Even though the passenger ferry is running and a barge was provided I couldn’t bring myself to open the cottage on my own. This coming weekend, my daughter and daughter-in-law are able to help me. In the meantime I’ve enjoyed ‘Summer’ from the city.

As many of you know I live down by Lake Ontario and am blessed with a string of beautiful parks in my neighbourhood. Here is summer so far, this year, for me.

Watching and playing lawn bowling down the street
Walking to the little beach at Rotary Peace Park
Enjoying the flora along the lake shore on my walks
View from the park at the bottom of my street

One Word Sunday – Seasonal

…thanks to Debbie for hosting One Word Sunday

With Christmas around the corner and COVID all around us we’ve decided to decorate for the holiday season early. Every day I’ve been pulling out some decorations and lovingly finding a special corner for them. Now some of you might think that this isn’t early at all but for me, the person who decorates her tree on Christmas Eve, this is early.

We were suppose to get our tree on Friday but we had to postpone because one of our daughters found out that she had been in contact with someone who tested positive for the virus. As soon as we find out that she’s negative (hopefully) we’ll find another time to drive to a tree farm to get the tree.

So my entry for Seasonal is related to the Christmas season. Here are some of the decorations that are up in the house. The outside has been done for weeks already.

Red – One Word Sunday

… thanks to The Photo Junkie for hosting One Word Sunday

Red is my all time favourite colour. I like to dress in red and I usually pick the red crayon first when I’m drawing with my granddaughter.IMG-6828
