Nothing says Christmas like red and green.

….pinks and purples seem to be the new modern festive colours

Walking through the neighbourhoods in Niagara-on-the-Lake this time of year is like being in a Hallmark Christmas movie.

….looks like we’ll have more doors open this year for Hallowe’en
Last year Hallowe’en was a bit of a bust because of COVID. Some people left candy outside on the honour system and many families had small costume parties with people who were in their bubble only. This year it looks like the rain will stop just in time for Trick or Treating and many people have decorated their houses with spooky decorations. I’m looking forward to opening the door again to all those lovely little kids (and some big ones too) all decked out as ghosts, witches, princesses and their favourite super heroes.
As an added precaution I’m prepackaging their treats in individual bags so there will be less handling of the food. Tonight I will clean out the pumpkin and let my husband do his magic on our Jack o lantern in the morning. Are you ready for Hallowe’en this year or are you going to give it a miss for another year?

….and the winner for my favourite Hallowe’en display is this one

…..apart from the last photo all the rest were pulled from the archives

If you have photos of three people, animals or things why not join the fun. Copy the link and paste it into your own post and I’ll be sure to respond.
…an Easter theme for #14 of Thursday Trios
We’re back in lockdown here in Ontario so all family visits are discouraged. I have a bag full of chocolates and eggs for the Easter egg hunt I had planned and I purchased more decorations and some wooden bird houses for a painting activity that I wanted to do with the family. My husband is trying to make me feel better by saying that none of that stuff will go bad so we can do this in May.
The one bit of good news that I got today was that I can get the vaccine on April 11. Yahoo!

With Christmas around the corner and COVID all around us we’ve decided to decorate for the holiday season early. Every day I’ve been pulling out some decorations and lovingly finding a special corner for them. Now some of you might think that this isn’t early at all but for me, the person who decorates her tree on Christmas Eve, this is early.
We were suppose to get our tree on Friday but we had to postpone because one of our daughters found out that she had been in contact with someone who tested positive for the virus. As soon as we find out that she’s negative (hopefully) we’ll find another time to drive to a tree farm to get the tree.
So my entry for Seasonal is related to the Christmas season. Here are some of the decorations that are up in the house. The outside has been done for weeks already.

Even during COVID people are decorating their homes and doors for Hallowe’en. As numbers rise in the city of Toronto there is an ever increasing risk that Trick or Treating will be discouraged. The residents in the High Park area, however, are not discouraged and continue to dig out their ghosts, goblins and other spooky characters to celebrate October 31st.
…amid speculation as to whether the kids will be out trick or treating this year
The good news for children is that the chief medical officer said that children will be allowed to go out on Hallowe’en night and are encouraged to wear masks as part of their costumes. Homes in my neighbourhood of New Toronto are already gearing up for the big night with decorations in front of their houses. Here are a few of them.
….so the snow is still on the ground
Earlier in the week we experienced a snow storm that broke all kinds of records for November 12th. Usually when snow falls this early it doesn’t last more than a day but there was a lot of it and the seasonal temperatures are well below normal. The seasons are all confused. There are still leaves on the trees but today many of them decided it was time to come down. It’s quite strange seeing leaves on top of snow.

The snow certainly has put some people in the Christmas spirit and decorations are starting to appear in the city.
