Water, Water Everywhere – Not What You Were Expecting

thanks to Jez for hosting Water, Water Everywhere https://jezbraithwaite.blog/2021/05/17/reflections-5-water-water-everywhere-78/

As I was sitting in the car and going through the carwash I decided to take photos from inside the car as the water and colourful soap blasted my front window.

This photo is clearly was not taken inside the carwash but it’s hard to imagine that it was taken today, on the icy shores of Lake Ontario and not on a beach in Brazil.

The kayakers, jet skiers, and boaters were also out today.

Saturday Sculpture – Someone Was Very Busy This Week

….thanks to Susan Kelly from No Fixed Plans for hosting Saturday Sculpture https://nofixedplans5.wordpress.com/2021/05/15/sculpture-saturday-31/

I try to get out and walk every day and at least once a week I walk over to Col. Sam Smith Park where there are these wonderful rocky beaches where one can see the city skyline of Toronto off in the distance. Over the years people have played with the rocks and bricks and created interesting sculptures and installation art on these rocky shore. They stay up for awhile and then they usually disappear.

Yesterday I observed not one or two of these rock sculpture but literally dozens of them that were not there last week. Some were very tall and others shorter and some were decorated with coloured rice but each one was different.

Jumping Up in the Air – Day 6

….thanks to Becky B for hosting January Squares https://beckybofwinchester.com/2021/01/06/square-up-6/

Olive loves to jump. How do you discourage that behaviour after one (Olive) slips a disc. The pain meds and muscle relaxants have slowed her down somewhat but I think this jumping thing is in the Frenchie DNA.

Water, Water Everywhere – #58

thanks to Jez for hosting Water Water Everywhere https://jezbraithwaite.blog/2021/01/04/frozen-lochan-water-water-everywhere-58/

On our daily walk today it was a bit drizzly but mild. Most of the snow has melted leaving lots of icy patches and puddles. Not only were we surrounded by the waters of Lake Ontario but we had to step carefully around and over these wet patches on the path.

Sunday Trees – 474

To drop or not to drop? This little tree hasn’t decided what to do with his summer coat.

Blessed With Another Beautiful Day

I’ll have to stop saying this is the last of the nice weather

Just when you thought you couldn’t get anymore nice days you get a nice day like today. Sunny, mild and no wind. A perfect day for a long walk. We even met someone who was pulling his canoe along the road and we thought he was just putting it away for the winter but he had actually been out on the lake with it.

Cold But Sunny

makes for a brisk walk in the park

As winter approaches we still make an effort to go for walks. Putting on my down coat, scarf, mittens and a hat makes the walk bearable and when the sun shines even pleasant. We had another one of those beautiful days on Sunday.
