…yesterday I had dinner with my daughters and granddaughter

…I can’t believe that I turned 70 yesterday
I don’t feel a day over 50, until I put out my back lifting a towel out of the laundry basket or wrenching my wrist trying to collapse some cardboard packing materials. That said, I’ve recovered relatively quickly and had a great day at my special birthday party in the garden yesterday. I’m always happiest when I’m surrounded by friends and family and 35 of them showed up.
The weather was absolutely beautiful, if not a tad too warm but when the shade came over the deck and patio, sitting outside was very comfortable. I was showered with love, cards, wine and flowers. There was lots of food and drink and everyone seemed to be having a good time.
For the rest of the week I’m spending time with my daughter and granddaughter before they return to New Brunswick and to get my birthday present from them I have to visit them in Moncton to use my gift ( a day at a Nordic Spa). I see a flight in the near future.
Thanks to my husband for my new patio furniture and thanks to Andrea for helping me put it together so that we could enjoy it at the party.

…away last week and working like crazy this week to get the house ready for my big 70 birthday
I wanted to post something a little different for Thursday Trios this week but I’m physically exhausted. This is the best I could come up with. Hopefully you’re having more luck finding trios this week. I need your inspiration. Please share.

If you’d like me to comment on your trios please copy the link from this post and copy it into your own post. I’ll get a pingback and after the weekend, if not sooner, I’ll get back to you.
….thanks to Jez for hosting Water, Water Everywhere https://jezbraithwaite.blog/2022/08/22/river-clyde-water-water-everywhere-140/
I’ve just returned from a five day stay at the cottage on Georgian Bay. As some of you may know my cottage is on an island and to get there you have to take a ferry. So I am literally surrounded by water when we go there. The cottage is on the north shore so it looks like we’re on the sea. This past week the lake was calm and great for swimming and paddle boarding.

…thanks to Jez for hosting I’m a Fan of…..https://jezbraithwaite.blog/2022/08/22/bees-fan-of-170/
Like Jez I’m also a fan of bees, especially photographing bees. I’m not a fan of wasps but was recently reminded that they are also pollinators and need to be protected as well. Having been stung by wasps and hornets in the past I have to admit that when they make entertaining or eating outside difficult I don’t rush to their aid when they get trapped inside any empty soda bottle. I’ve also had to destroy wasp nests that started to grow on the underside of our roof and on the inside of our cottage. Sorry if this offends anyone but I’m not taking the risk of having my family and guests stung by these aggressive little creatures. I am, however, open to any suggestions of how to keep wasps from building their nests on my property. Those paper nests that are suppose to keep wasps away don’t seem to work.

…will be off grid and unable to post
I’m finally getting back up to the cottage. With no electricity or internet I won’t be posting any photos or stories for awhile. Hopefully when I return I’ll have lots of new photo and some adventures to share with you. Here’s just a taste of what I’ll be experiencing.

….thanks to Jez for hosting I’m a Fan of….https://jezbraithwaite.blog/2022/08/01/garden-macros-2-fan-of-167/
Everyone knows that I am a fan of macro photography but when I saw this challenge I decided to investigate my own garden for some interesting macro shots.

….this week’s Thursday Trios were found on a recent exploration of one of my favourite neighbourhoods in Toronto
