Whatsoever is Lovely …..week 16….Spending 24 Days With our Granddaughter

….thanks to Kate from for hosting Whatsoever is Lovely https://www.thesquirrelchase.com/2022/04/27/whatsoever-is-lovely-2022-week-16/

Our trip to Europe, France and London to be exact, was a blessing because we got to spend every day with our youngest granddaughter. Sevin is just two so of course there were moments when everything wasn’t sunshine and lollipops but for the most part we loved spending time with her and now that we are back home she asks her parents where are Oma and Big Papa.

I’m a Fan of Duck(s)

thanks to Jez for hosting I’m a fan of…..https://jezbraithwaite.blog/2022/05/02/ducks-fan-of-154/

Ducks are everywhere and I can’t help but take photos when I see them.

In France, Duck is a very popular food item and at Easter we treated ourselves to a roast of duck stuffed with prunes. I couldn’t bring myself to buying the whole bird at the market. The heads were still attached.

In London we went Clissold Park, in the Highbury Islington area. Here we saw ducks in the pond.

On my first walk when we arrived back in Toronto I walked to the Rotary Peace Park and found this lovely female Mallard who had absolutely no fear of me.

Monday Windows in Paris

…..from the library at the University of Paris

An art nouveau design by Eugène Bigot constructed in 1927. Ian Nairn describes it like this: “It is like a brick balloon inflated to its limit with an unquenchable puff…”

Monday Murals – In the Neighbourhood, February 21, 2022

….thanks to Sami for hosting Monday Murals https://sami-colourfulworld.blogspot.com/2022/02/monday-mural-tribute-to-vincent-lingiari.html

In a past post that I did on Monday Murals I only did close-up shots of a mural that is painted on the side of a building on 1st Street. Someone asked me to take a shot of the entire mural, so here it is.

Today I walked along Lakeshore Blvd. for a total of 6 kilometres. On Ninth Street on the side of a Polish Credit Union is this mural dedicated to the Polish immigrants who live and work in the community.

Closer to 20th Street is this restaurant with this lovely whimsical mural above its outdoor patio.
