I love typing in the number into the search box on my photos page. I never know what’s going to come up. Try it, it’s a lot of fun.

It’s so cool when some of photos actually have the number 178 in them. Can you find it?
…after 6 wonderful days with Andrea and Olive
This is the first time in many years that I’ve experienced this much snow. Our cottage on Christian Island ( a mere 10 minutes from here to the ferry dock) is not winterized and the road up the north shore is not ploughed regularly, if at all.
While Andrea logs onto work today, I’ll be doing laundry and packing to go home. Once that is done I may do some more art or continue reading my book, Doppelgänger. Yesterday I prepped a couple of pages in my art journal and I might continue with one or both pages if I’m inspired.

Hopefully we’ll find some time after lunch to go for another walk. It’s considerably warmer today and it has finally stopped snowing.

…more snow
Since Sunday the snow has come down every day. There’s a good 12 inches (25 to 30 cm) on the ground and it just keeps coming. Andrea and I were going to go for a drive but thought better of it when we checked the forecast.
Olive loves the snow. The worst part for her and probably for her humans is getting dressed to go out.

Once outside you can see from the snow on the railings how much more snow had fallen.

…in the dead of winter
It was definitely colder than yesterday, partly due to the winds coming off the bay. I was grateful for the use of Andrea’s hand warmers that slipped into my gloves.

…it’s been close to a year since I’ve pulled out my art supplies
I’m at my daughter’s cottage for several days and since she’s working up here we both thought it would be a good time for me to start putting some marks onto paper again. I gathered up a few supplies and my mixed media art journal and started with baby steps towards continuing my art journey.
It’s the perfect setting. Quiet and restful with wonderful views of the forest and the falling snow. Here’s my first piece after playing with collage and mark making.
