Tuesday Textures from the Greenhouse
…Centennial Park Conservatory
Textures in plants can range from smooth (as in bamboo), to fuzzy, to spiky and to straw like (as in the bark on the palm tree).
Macro Monday – Close-ups at the Winter Holiday Market
…last Thursday the family and I went to the Distillery District in Toronto where the Holiday Market was still on
It was another wet and grey day but these close-ups with the rain droplets and bright colours cheered me up.
Monday Mural Behind the Flatiron Building

The mural, “trompe l’oeil”, is on the back of the Gooderham Building or more commonly known as the Flatiron Building. It appears to be a canvas screwed onto the façade with the edges of the canvas fluttering in the wind.
The Gooderham Building, is located on the wedge shaped corner of Wellington East, Front, and Scott Streets and was built in 1891. It was owned by George Gooderham who owned numerous properties throughout the city, including the Gooderham Distillery. He was one of the richest men in Canada and yet was relatively unknown.

This week I attended the One of a Kind Show and was surrounded by art and artsy displays. I wish I had taken more photos.
Thursday Trios – I Love Gnomes
…on time this week and early
On Monday, this week I went to the One of a Kind Show here in Toronto. There was so much to see and so many interesting people to talk with that we barely saw half the show. I may have to go back.
I love gnomes…garden gnomes, toy gnomes, Christmas gnomes, etc.. I recently purchased a knitting pattern for a gnome. If I ever get around to making one, I’ll post it here.
