Walking on a Snowy Day

I started out in the morning when the snow was still light

I knew that as the snow accumulated throughout the day I was less likely to get out for my walk so I bundled up and headed out mid-morning. On the way as the snow started to accumulate on the plants and trees I stopped to take a few shots of the freshly fallen ice crystals.

Monday Murals – Art Commissioned for Our Enjoyment

thanks to Sami from Colourful World

https://sami-colourfulworld.blogspot.com/2021/02/monday-mural-pop-of-colour.html for hosting Monday Murals

I love murals and street art. Sometimes we see things so often, almost daily, and we take it for granted. In my neighbourhood there are lots of murals that have been commissioned over the years that I had completely forgotten about when thinking of this challenge. Here are just a few of the murals that are close together in my neck of the woods.

This last one is my favourite. It almost feels like there is an actual Mountie up on a ladder painting the last bit of red on the wall. Notice his horse waiting for him on the other side of the bus shelter.

New Flower (February 22, 2019) – White Poinsettia

….did you know that the poinsettia is actually a tree

I’m looking after my neighbour’s plants while she’s away. Two of them are white poinsettias and they don’t look very healthy. According to Becky B over at Life with B this is very normal in Feb/March when they normally lose all their leaves before summer. The individual flowers on one of the plants still look quite pretty.IMG-1321
