A Walk Through Camden Passage in Angel

closer to home

We didn’t want to go too far afield today because we had to pick up Sevin from school. After a good hearty breakfast at the flat we headed out to catch the #4 bus to Islington Green.

We stopped in Waterstones bookstore to look around and purchased a couple of paperbacks. After that we were desperate for a coffee and we stopped at the same coffee kiosk that we went to the last time we were here. Once we were satisfactorily caffeinated we continued our journey down Camden Passage.

We stopped in a great cheese store and purchased some yummy cheeses made in Britain. One of the cheeses, the cheddar to be exact came from a dairy in Devon. The cheese monger told us that he had been to that dairy and he claimed that the owner knew her cheese as well as she knew her cows. She has a herd of over 100 cows and she has named each one.

Before heading home to pick up Sevin we stopped at Cass Art to pick up more sketchbooks and watercolour paper. All in all a very enjoyable afternoon.

Walking Through Clissold Park and Along Church Street to Get Ice-cream

Yesterday was a more laid back day but at one point Azadeh, Sevin and I needed to get out for a walk. It turned out to be one of those typical London days ….to rain or not to rain but we chanced it anyway and headed for the park.

We took a shortcut through the park and made our way to Church Street. About half the stores were closed because it was a bank holiday but most of the coffee shops were opened.

The best part of the walk for Sevin was the stop at the gelato shop.

…and buying her favourite flavours….mango and strawberry.

Serenity

this week’s Lens-Artists Challenge

Thank you to Egidio from Through Brazilian Eyes https://throughbrazilianeyes.com/lens-artists-challenge-348-serenity/

Serenity for me has always been looking over lake up at my cottage or enjoying a cup of coffee with a book on the deck.

When Dad lived with us he used to love going down to the park at the end of the our street and sitting on the bench or his walker and just enjoying the view of his ‘ocean’, which was actually Lake Ontario.

Easter at the Market This Week

…special bread and extra vendors

This week we brought out a recipe for bread that we haven’t made in several years….Timbit Paske. We slightly altered our fruit bread and added four Timbits when we shaped the dough.

There certainly was a lot of interest in this bread and it was mostly sold when I left the market an hour after the market opened.

Along with the regular vendors we had a few new merchants with special treats for Easter.
