Lucille is an Odd Duck….
…or should I say bird?
Lucille may be odd looking but she brings a smile to my face as does most of the art that Deniz Seker makes. She is one of the artists that is a member of WAAC and one of the first people that I was instantly drawn to when I first joined the Women’s Art Association. Thanks Deniz for introducing Lucille to us at the Collage Show.

Thanks to Becky B for hosting SquareOdds for the month of February.

I’m a Fan of …..Swans
….thanks to Jez for hosting the I’m a fan of….challenge, this week he chose swanshttps://jezbraithwaite.blog/2022/01/24/swans-1-fan-of-142/
I am a fan of swans and have lots of photos of them in the archives but I decided to go for a walk late this afternoon to see if I could find some close to home. I walked east of the house and stayed close to the edge of the parks looking for these beautiful birds. I one area where I usually see up to a dozen or more was inaccessible because the ramp to the lake was piled high with snow from the ploughs.
I continued further east and finally came across a flock of them about a kilometre or more from the house. Here are my swans in winter on the shores of Lake Ontario in Toronto.

A Busy Day at the Feeder
…the day before our first big snowfall
Birds and squirrels must know when they need to stock up on their food intake. It was a crazy day at the bird feeder and between the birds and the tree rats (my husband’s name for squirrels) the feeder and seeds around the feeder quickly disappeared.

The same bird feeder the next day.
