Here are two of my favourite photos of water. One is the city skyline of Toronto on a grey but calm day and other is a windy summer day at the beach overlooking Georgian Bay.

…this week’s theme for the weekly photo challenge is ascend

I was a bit perplexed by the word ascend so I looked up the definition.

  1. go up or climb:
    “she ascended the stairs” · “new magmas were created and ascended to the surface”
    synonyms: climb · go up/upward · move up/upward · rise (up) · clamber (up) · mount· scale · conquer · take to the air · take off · rocket
    antonyms: descend
    • climb to the summit of (a mountain or hill):
      “the first traveler to ascend the mountain”
    • (of a fish or boat) move upstream along (a river).
  2. rise through the air:

      With definition in hand I found some photos that I felt ‘ascended’ to the challenge.

A Square Evening in December – Our First Snow

Walking tonight to get in my remaining steps I stepped into a winter wonderland.  That may be a bit of an exaggeration seeing that it was really just a dusting of snow that was clinging to the ground but the evening was so serene that I didn’t want to stop walking. I took my camera with me and managed to capture some of the falling snow.
