Going back to 2018 when we were in London, England I spent a few days at the V&A, exploring the art, the architecture and the special exhibitions. I even spent some time there drawing the sculptures. Here are two shots for past squares of circles.

On a trip today to Guelph we ventured over to the Arboretum. It was just underway when I went to school there, some 50 years ago so many of the trees are now very mature. The colours were beautiful but to my surprise there were numerous and interesting statues and sculptures on the grounds. Here are just a few.

I know that Marsha expects the art we post to be outside but I figure if the gallery is open to the public and is free to the public then maybe it’s okay to post under this challenge. Back in September the Women’s Art Association of Canada hosted a show for new member like me to display their work.
One of the pieces that impressed me was an installation piece that had to be assembled and then disassembled at the end of the show. The artist took pieces of her grandmother’s couch and other items from her home to create this piece.

My first attempt at abstract, many years ago, involved circles and it seems to be a shape I keep coming back to.

In 2016, when my son came to visit us from London we took a trip to the Aga Khan Museum in the east end of Toronto. There were lots of beautiful Persian artifacts and many of them were circular so this post features two themes from past squares.
