Carrying On a Running Tradition
…46 years ago Kevin ran in this race and yesterday our daughter took part at the High Park Spring Run Off Race
Back in the day my husband was an elite runner. When the kids were little we used to bundle them up, strap them into their car seats and drive off to races all over Ontario and New York State. One of the races that was closer to home was the High Park Spring Run Off. When it first started back in 1978 it attracted an impressive 1200 runners and yesterday’s race saw over 5000 men, women and children running in the 8k, 5k and children’s race.
This is not the first year that our daughter, Andrea ran in this race but it was certainly her best performance. She placed 1st in her age category for women. Kevin and I arrived after the race started but we managed to find a prime spot just at the top of the hill so we had a great vantage point for taking photos and caught her just steps in front of the finish line.
Funky Frog Friday – March 31, 2023
…Tonguely is not too sure what to make of this new frog
Kevin is playing around with Procreate and has come up with a new frog character. No name yet but if you have a suggestion we’d love to hear what it is.

A little different from his monsters and wacky birds but I’m loving them. My husband is learning a lot on Procreate. It’s still a challenge but he does a little bit every day. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s Monster Monday.

Kevin is really enjoying playing with Procreate on his new iPad. He’s experimenting with different palettes and brushes. Here is his latest creation.
Monsters – A Work in Progress
….or maybe two
The first monster my husband sent me today was titled A Work in Progress. When I asked him if it was unfinished he said it might be but then soon after he sent me a second monster with no title. I am so pleased that he’s enjoying working on his new iPad with Procreate. The goal is to take some of his original paintings and put them into a children’s book. Procreate will help him with backgrounds and give his paintings that finished look that you need for publishing your work.

Monster Monday – Using Procreate

My husband is getting very serious about producing a children’s book using his monster drawings. To help him with his backgrounds and clean-up his paintings, he’s invested in a new iPad Pro and purchased Procreate.
Procreate is a wonderful program used for drawing and painting. There’s a steep learning curve for those of us who have never used a program like this before but Kevin is working on it every day. Here is his first Monster Monday using Procreate.
