WPC – Smile

….thanks to WordPress for this week’s theme smile

Today we woke up to grey skies and soon after it started to snow. Later in the afternoon the sun came out but it was short lived as a north west wind blew through bringing with it a blustery storm. I couldn’t believe how quickly the weather changed.

This is the view from our daughter’s house in Hamilton.

Fortunately the blizzard only lasted about 10 minutes and once again the sun came out and so did my smile. Here are a few shots of blue sky, the sun and a trumpet of swans that reappeared when the weather changed. All things that bring a smile to my face after this long weird winter and quirky start to spring.

Cee’s Which Way Photo Challenge – March 30, 2018

…..not as late as last week’s Challenge

Thanks Cee for hosting the Which Way Photo Challenge. Your challenges always challenge me to look for the unusual and sometimes mundane subjects. Here are a few shots that I took on my walk a few days ago.

Roda’s Critter Connection – April 2, 2018

….thanks to Roda for hosting the Critter Connection Challenge

These seagulls let you get pretty close before they waddle away. I think they’re eternal optimists and hope that all humans have food for them. IMG_1303

Thursday Doors – March 29, 2018

…..I love red doors

Thanks to Norm for hosting Thursday Doors. I haven’t participated in awhile. It seems like I haven’t been anywhere exciting or interesting enough to take photos of doors lately. Walking home from the library the other day I started to notice some beautiful red doors in the neighbourhood  and I had recently taken a photo of a red door in my daughter’s neck of the woods.

With that in mind I decided to focus on the colour of doors and with that in mind I could have a different theme each week for quite some time. So that said here are my first photos of RED doors.

March Square – A Circle Within a Square

….thanks to Becky B for hosting March Square

It’s amazing how a medallion like this can dress up the dreariest of fences. It certainly caught my eye as I was walking home from the library. IMG_1274
