It’s Beginning to Change

….not just the temperature and the amount of daylight hours

Last week I spent four days at the cottage. It was only my third visit of the season and next week I’ll do one more visit and close up for the winter. It’s been a strange cottage season for the lessees on Christian Island but I’ve enjoyed it non the less.

Even walking through the woods was prohibited but we were allowed to venture to the beach and up and down our lanes. I’m beginning to notice the signs that autumn and winter are on their way. When the winds start up the acorns land hard on our metal roof and make a loud bang. There’s not a lot of change in colour yet but there are signs everywhere that it won’t be long now.

Spring Like Weather in March

….but it is officially spring, isn’t it?????

Yes Spring officially begins in March but rarely do we get such nice weather so soon. When March comes in like a lamb it usually leaves like a lion. Now I may have spoken too soon because we still have four days left in March.

This time last year this is what we were experiencing.763308-AF-E29-B-4-FBA-978-A-E904224-B707-B

This past week we’ve had some beautiful spring weather. The buds on the trees are starting to green, the daffodils and crocus are pushing up through the ground and the birds are singing morning and evening. This is what spring looks like in 2020. Fingers crossed that I haven’t jinxed it.58-E80148-34-B6-485-A-BCF5-0-AF29-D9-D2-A29

A Photo a Week – Up in the Air

…thanks to Nancy Merrill for hosting the Photo a Week Challenge

Interesting challenge this week with so much being ‘up in the air’ so to speak. I took the phrase literally and posted photos of things in the air.68-A2766-E-A87-A-4198-BB6-C-FB8-BD26-ADD7-F-1-201-a
