Tea Biscuits and Doodles

….trying to keep busy and watch less TV

My husband finally got bored watching TV and felt well enough to play in the kitchen. For some reason he’s had a craving for tea biscuits so he started to research for a recipe where we had all the ingredients. I haven’t made biscuits in a long time but I do remember that they were pretty basic with simple ingredients. It’s amazing how many variations of tea biscuits there are out there. Some called for evaporated milk and lemon soda pop and of course there are all kinds of add ons like raisin and cranberries.

We finally decided on a classic recipe. My husband also made his own clotted cream and we had a wonderful afternoon tea break with hot biscuits and cream. The only thing missing were the fresh berries to go on top.11-B17042-A48-F-4028-ABAF-7-E15-D9-BEE793

Later in the evening I went on the internet and found a new site hosted by Mo Willems, the children’s book author and illustrator. It is very much geared to children but I enjoyed his show ‘Lunch Doodles with Mo Willems”. Check it out if you like to doodle and/or if you have children who like his books. He demonstrates how to draw Pigeon, Piggy and Elephant.

What is the Prettiest Cookie in the Whole World?

….thanks to Judy  for posing this question

Judy from Life Lessons posed this question on her blog yesterday with a photograph of one of my favourite cookies. I told her that it would be hard to beat. On my walk today I ventured into my local Polish deli and found some interesting cookies on the shelf.  Don’t worry there weren’t more than three customers in the store and we all kept our distance from each other.

I think the packaging was almost prettier than the cookie but they did taste nice with a cup of tea.69-FABDDE-B9-BB-447-E-ADFF-60-EF775806-A5

LPM – Photo Adventure – Still Life

……Thanks to Little Pieces of Me

for hosting the Photo Adventure.

One of my hobbies, besides photography, is baking bread. Every week I volunteer at a local historic museum called Montgomery’s Inn where I prepare the dough and help bake it in the outdoor oven. After it’s baked it’s sold the same day at the Farmers’ Market which supports local farmers, food producers and bakers all year round.

Here is the focaccia that I baked today.

52 Week Smartphone Challenge – Week 6 – NO Filter

…thanks to Khürt for hosting the 52 Week Smartphone Challenge

I’m taking a smartphone on-line class and I’ve started playing around with all the editing tools. This week, however, the challenge is to not use a filter. This is one photo where I didn’t do any editing. 44C6C359-E57E-481A-AABF-8E15B31A9795

Day 20 of the 30 Day Creativity Challenge

….thanks to Rainee for introducing me to the 30 Day Creativity Challenge

I’m a bit behind this week posting all my creativity actiivities. Sometimes to get creative you host other people like we did on Sunday and other times you get creative or are inspired by creativity at work. This week I was inspired by the creativity of my granddaughter’s pizza making skills and the pizza making skills by 14 children at Montgomery’s Inn who were attending an all day workshop where one of the activities involved making and personalizing their own pizzas.

I very much enjoyed helping our granddaughter with making her pizza and walking around on Tuesday and giving guidance to the boys and girls at Montgomery’s Inn.
