Shopping in the Rain – November 27, 2022

….thanks to Becky B for hosting Walking Squares https://beckybofwinchester.com/2022/11/27/walking-squares-27/

One of my favourite shopping neighbourhoods in Toronto is Bloor West Village. After I dropped my daughter off at her home, just east of this community I drove along Bloor Street and parked on one of the side streets. Even though it was raining I wanted to check out the green grocers and some of the dress stores.

Waking to a Church Bazaar in the Neighbourhood

….thanks to Becky B or hosting Walking Squares https://beckybofwinchester.com/2022/11/26/walking-squares-26/

It’s that time of year. The Christmas decorations and lights are popping up, the malls are getting busy and our computers are getting a workout with on-line shopping. After a two year absence, churches are opening their doors for annual Christmas Bazaars and Craft Sales. That’s where my walk took me today…..St. Margaret’s Anglican Church.

Day 25 – Walking by the Marina

….thanks to Becky B for hosting Walking Squares https://beckybofwinchester.com/2022/11/25/walking-squares-25/

The boats have all been put away for the winter. There are only the empty docks and abandoned slips while the boats sit on dry land, wrapped in white vacuumed sealed wraps. The walk, nonetheless is still pleasant and I am reminded that colder days are yet to come.

Walking Through Col. Sam Smith Park

….thanks to Becky B for hosting Walking Squares https://beckybofwinchester.com/2022/11/22/walking-squares-22/

I love this park but I realized recently that I haven’t ventured out this far in awhile. Today I decided it was time to get back here and explore some of my favourite places. As I got closer to the pond I was actually shocked at how low the water level was. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it like this.

Weekly Prompts Weekend Edition – Easy

thanks to Sue W. and GC for hosting Weekly Prompts https://weeklyprompts.com/2022/11/19/weekly-prompts-weekend-challenge-easy/

When I need to take it ‘easy’ I like to doodle or paint. This particular painting was ‘easy’ to do and helped me momentarily to take my mind off of our health issues. Thankfully we are both fully recovering.

I call it The North Shore After the Storm

Walking Through the Subway – November 18, 2022

….thanks to Becky B for hosting Walking Squares https://beckybofwinchester.com/2022/11/18/walking-squares-18/

It’s not unusual to see birds flying over the tracks and through the tunnels in the subway but seeing this pigeon was a first for me.

A Cold Walk Downtown – November 17, 2022

….Thanks to Becky B for hosting Walking Squares https://beckybofwinchester.com/2022/11/17/walking-squares-17/

My husband came home from the hospital yesterday. I wasn’t planning on going to the concert that I had tickets for but he didn’t want me to miss it. When I woke up this morning I was still in the mindset of not going but then a good friend, who is one of the organizers called me to see if I could help them out. They had a bit of an emergency and I couldn’t say no.

I normally love this walk after I get off the subway but I have to admit that I do prefer it when the weather is warmer nut it’s still picturesque nonetheless.

The emergency was resolved by the time I got there so I was able to enjoy a wonderful concert.

Windows from the East Coast – November 14, 2022

thanks to Ludwig for hosting Monday Windows https://mondaywindow.wordpress.com/2022/11/14/monday-window-november-14-2022/

I wish I had more examples of windows from my visit to New Brunswick but because so many museums and places of interest were closed for the season, we concentrated more on the scenery and beaches. Not sure what the wine was like at Magnetic Hill winery. We drove by on our back to the airport and stopped for only a few minutes.
