I’m a Fan of …..Waves

thanks to Jez for hosting I’m a Fan of….https://jezbraithwaite.blog/2023/04/10/breakfast-in-princes-street-gardens-fan-of-201/

I love the waves on Lake Ontario and Georgian Bay where our cottage is. I won’t be going to the cottage for at least another month but the lake by our house never fails to provide some magnificent waves.

Weekly Prompts Wednesday Challenge – Gardens

Where do I start with the prompt ‘garden’? It seems that at least 50% of my posts are around flowers. I’ve decided to go back and find some of the more interesting gardens that I’ve visited over the years.

Monday Mural – In Yorkville

….viewed from the parking lot behind WAAC

Sometimes the best art is on walls and often in obscure places. Today’s mural was found facing the parking lot between Bloor St. and Prince Arthur Ave. I almost missed it because I wasn’t looking up and to the left. We were headed back to the car and I was focused on the mission to find the car. One of my friends brought my attention.

Weekly Prompts Weekend Challenge – GAP

thanks to Sue W and GC for hosting Weekly Prompts https://weeklyprompts.com/2023/04/08/weekly-prompts-weekend-challenge-gap/

Some gaps are manmade, like the gap created by beams on the underside of the observation deck overlooking Fundy Bay in New Brunswick but for me the ones made by nature are the most interesting. The following photos are from Hopewell Rocks, NB and the last one was taken on Prince Edward Island. That one is pretty far off in the distance but I included it because after a second wind storm, shortly after I left, took it down.

On our walk through the Arboretum yesterday, we came across some beautiful sculptures throughout the grounds. Here are just a few of them:

RDP Friday – Wise

thanks to the Ragtag community for hosting RDP https://ragtagcommunity.wordpress.com/2023/04/07/rdp-friday-wise/

Today’s word is ‘wise’ and I feel I made a wise decision. I’ve been thinking about doing this for awhile. As some of you may know I am preparing for my second art show and I’ve been busy making new work. I feel, however, that I might have to use some work that I’ve already shown in the past year but I’m feeling pretty confident that most of the pieces will be new.

Having said that I painted a floral abstract that I’ve put in three shows already and it’s never sold. It was part of a series of paintings and all of the other paintings sold. Today I decided it was time to make a change because I have to admit that over the past several weeks I’ve been dreaming about how I might change it. This afternoon I had the courage to do just that. I’m glad I did because I’m liking it much better.

I think I made a wise choice.

Here are the ‘before’ and then the ‘after’ shots.
