The old buildings in Edinburgh were amazing and of course with them come some lovely windows.

…on our way to see where our son, Brendan, works
Our son works at the V&A in London but he recently was given the job of overseeing the construction of the new warehouse and facility in East London. We weren’t allowed inside but we did see the outside and we passed numerous works of street art and the London Olympic site.

After lunch we made our way to the new facility but it was very hot that day and I slowly followed our tour guide. I was happy to get into air-conditioned buildings along the way.

Brick Lane is a famous street in the East End of London. If you’re a fan of graffiti and street art, then you’re in the right place – Brick Lane is famous for it. It has a large population of Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi immigrants and if you’re after a good curry this is the neighbourhood to travel to.

They may not be mountain peaks but these spires, monuments and cranes look like peaks from a distance and certainly ‘peak’ your attention.

We’re coming up to our 49th wedding anniversary and I still get a thrill of going out on dates and travelling with Kevin.

As many of you know I was away for close to a month to travelling throughout the Uk. The main reason for going was to spend time with our son and his family who live in London, England. We started our trip in Edinburgh and Dundee, Scotland because our son had to travel to the V&A Dundee for an opening of a new show. It was wonderful spending time with him and learning about the installation that he was responsible for. There was also another brand new opening and we were invited to attend this event. It was called Kimono: From Kyoto to Catwalk.

After our time in Dundee, our son took the train with us to London, where we spent the the next 16 days sightseeing and spending time with the family. Sevin is now four and attending Nursery and will be starting school in September. We loved spending time with her in the evenings and on the weekends.

After our trip to the UK I’ve decided that I love Scotland and can’t wait to go back. Here are a few of my favourite images from our six days in Edinburgh, Dundee and Perth.
