Snow, Snow and More Snow

it’s been quite the year for accumulations of snow

After a couple of warmer days much of the snow has melted but there are still snow banks at the edges of peoples driveways and unmelted snow in the parks. We’ve been having this thaw, freeze, thaw cycle of weather for the last month and in between we’ve been getting more snow. For the rest of the week and into next week there are at least four days of snow forecast. Here are some of the days right after a night of gently falling snow.

Despite the very cold weather a large gaggle of geese and ducks were swimming close to the beach over at Col. Sam Smith Park yesterday. Right in the middle of this group of waterfowl was a lone swan.

Water, Water Everywhere – February 16, 2022

….thanks Jez for hosting Water, Water Everywhere https://jezbraithwaite.blog/2022/02/14/solitary-duckling-water-water-everywhere-114/

When the sun shines and the winds are minimal I love to walk along the shores of this Great Lake. Even when the temperatures are sitting at -10 degrees celsius the walk is very mediative. The lake rarely freezes because it is so deep but on a day like this when the water is perfectly still it is so clear that you can see the bottom close to the shore.
