November Shadows Square Challenge

Becky B is back with her square photo challenge https://thesquaresofb.com/2025/11/04/shadow-square-4/

I’m already four days late starting this November challenge. On my walk today I looked for shadows in the neighbourhood.

Getting into the Hallowe’en Spirit in the Neighbourhood

Yesterday Kevin and I went shopping for our Hallowe’en treats to shell out this Friday. We’re feeling a little behind this year because of our recent trip to the UK. We did purchase our pumpkins before we left but we left them in the house so that the squirrels couldn’t feast on them.

The neighbours, however, started putting out their decorations at the beginning of October.

School Pick-ups and Ballet Classes

One of our favourite things to do in London was pick up our granddaughter from school, walk back to flat with a stop at the corner store to stock up on drinks and snacks and on one occasion we got Sevin ready for her ballet class and walked her over to to the community hall for her lesson.

Doors on Petherton in London

thanks to Dan for hosting Thursday Doors https://nofacilities.com/2025/10/23/hartford-line-union-station/

Our flat in London was situated on Petherton Rd. in London. It is part of the Islington area and was a mere 10 minute walk to our son’s flat in Highbury. We would frequently walk down Petherton to catch the overground rail to go to the Storehouse in one direction and Hampstead in the other. Here are a few of the doorways we would pass.

The David Bowie Centre

Earlier this year the David Bowie estate donated their collection of photos, videos, clothing and memorabilia that belonged to the iconic singer to the V&A. The Storehouse set aside a room to house and exhibit the collection for all David Bowie fans to enjoy.

There are dozens of costume bags that store David’s outfits that he wore in his shows and music videos. You can even request to see some his outfits in the Study Hall. While we were there an outfit was being laid out on the table next to ours.
