Sketchbook Revival – Day 8 – 100 Dots

thanks to Noah Scalin for this art activity

On day 8 Karen Abend featured Noah Scalin who showed us how to open up when you don’t know what to draw or paint. 100 dots is literally an activity where you randomly place 100 dots on a piece of paper and then you look for dots to connect to create a picture. I decided to look for a face. Here is my creation.

Sunday Trees – 439 (…and a Personal Message)

…thanks to Becca Givens for hosting Sunday Trees

I can barely remember what day of the week it is and during this strange time in our history I find myself experiencing a whole range of emotions. One of them is extreme sadness and it hit me like a ton of bricks this past week. I reached out to my family and some of my friends and they helped me through this difficult time with humour and love.

For a couple of days my blog was sadly neglected and I’m only now trying to get back into it. I’m not doing this out of a sense of duty but rather for the love of it. It really does give me perspective and a place to connect with friends all over the world. I hope all of you are coping during these trying times and staying safe and keeping healthy.

Sending love and hope

Sketchbook Revival – Day 7

thanks to Karen Abend for hosting these wonderful free on-line classes

I haven’t done all the classes but there are so many to choose from. On Day 7 the featured artist Juliette Meeks and she gave a lesson on painting and drawing with watercolour. Our subject was a bunch of flowers. I normally sketch out my paintings first with ink and then paint the colour in but Juliette had us go straight to the watercolour and created our shapes without the aid of pencil or pen. I enjoyed the process but need to practise more.C87-CED9-C-1531-4-E8-F-A24-D-15143-AB9-D17-D-1-201-a

Saturday Sculpture – April 11, 2020

….thanks to Mind Over Matter for hosting Saturday Sculpture

I love this sculpture in front of the Design Museum in London, England. The artist is Eduardo Paolozzi. This photo was taken on our trip to London in October 2018.5-B7-BE807-88-FC-4-DE6-9629-4-D72-A28-AB18-B-1-201-a

Day 8 – Furniture

…thanks to Leanne Cole for hosting the 30 Day at Home Challenge

When I saw the theme for today I actually cringed because we’re in dire need of new living room furniture but we’ve decided not to purchase anything until our dear Frances is no longer with us. Thinking about it though I decided that it didn’t need to be something from the living room or something that we sit on.

This is probably my most favourite piece of furniture. Some of you might not consider it furniture but it plays a prominent role in the decor of my house.259-AEC40-FD21-43-CC-A695-9074-C5-F43-F5-E

30 Day at Home Challenge – Indoor Portrait Photography

….thanks to Leanne Cole for hosting the 30 Day at Home Challenge

On Day 5 we were asked to take indoor portrait photos. Seeing that I’m not seeing anyone these days and that my husband doesn’t like it when I take his photo I’ve gone into the archives of recent photos and found these. One is a selfie and the other is my granddaughter, who I miss very much.9-E1295-BD-AB54-4403-B3-AD-9-F359-CC1733-F-1-201-a
