Wacky Birds for Christmas

Kevin’s birds are a hit with the granddaughters

Well I’m not sure that the youngest really appreciates them yet but the five year old loves them. Last week’s drawings became gifts for the two girls. Winnie has already been given hers and the other is waiting to be mailed.

Last Bath of the Season

back in August I promised to post photos of the birds in the birdbath

On the weekend I decided that I needed to put the birdbath away for the winter. To be honest with you since I put it into my garden I hadn’t seen one bird use the thing. Well at least I hadn’t observed any action over there. I wondered if it was too close to where we sat.

Looking out the back door on Saturday I noticed that a bird landed on the edge of the bath. I quickly picked up my phone and gingerly made my way to the patio table. The bird took no notice of me but I didn’t want to chance it and scare him off so I stayed back and used my zoom feature on the phone. They’re not the best shots but I was pleased that the birdbath was a hit with this little fellow.

The Eyes Have It

….thanks to Becky B for hosting kindasquare for the month of Octoberhttps://beckybofwinchester.com/2020/10/27/kinda-square-27/

I love or take kindly to the eyes of animals and birds. I often wonder what they’re thinking and try to see if there are any clues in the eyes.

A Rare Sighting in the City

….but not in High Park

I was very excited when I came across this majestic bird in the pond in High Park this week. Great Blue Herons Great are can be found in High Park and they are one of the largest of the Park’s visitors. Their presence indicates that the water in Grenadier Pond provides food and a habitat where privacy and shallow shorelines are important.
