Many cemeteries in the UK are places to walk, sit and enjoy the view. This one in Edinburgh was located behind the St. John’s Scottish Episcopal Church. Nestled among the tombstones are places to sit and enjoy a great cup of coffee from the cafe inside the church.

Today’s daily prompt is picture books. I loved Mies van Hout’s books about friendship and feelings. They made for great discussion starters in my classes and the drawings inspired many art lessons as well.

Now that we’re back home I can start blogging again. I was unable to post photos on my trip so over the next several weeks I’ll be posting photos from the UK. Some will be in challenges and others will be used to document our adventures.
I was amazed to find roses blooming this time of year but I found them all over Scotland and London, England. A rare site here in Toronto.

Tomorrow we are starting our trip to the UK. I’ve been prepping my blog and scheduling posts for the next two to three weeks because I’m not sure that I’ll be able to post any photographs while we’re on the trip. Even though I’ve deleted over 500 photos from my media page it still says I have no room for new ones.
I can still see other posts and leave comments (hopefully) but if I can’t I’ll catch up when we return May 20th. In the meantime here are Kevin’s friends all ready for the trip.

On a recent walk I came a cross a beautiful pair of swans. I only noticed one for the longest time until someone told me that there was a coyote eyeing the swan that was sitting on a nest just over to my left. I never did see the coyote, even though I did venture closer to the nest. It was only because the red ants were starting to bite my ankles that I decided to move to drier ground.
