Day 23 – Food

….thanks to Leanne Cole for hosting the 30 Day at Home Challenge

On day 23 my husband and I were inspired by Jamie Oliver’s 30 Minute Meals and together we made a wonderful meal for the two of us. It consisted of a Wacky Summer Pasta, Arugula and Watercress Salad with Warm Pancetta and a Pear Meringue Tart.

Day 22 – Bubbles

….thanks to Leanne Cole for hosting the 30 Day at Home Challenge

Taking photos of bubbles is not an easy task. Leanne has a beautiful shot on her site and clearly she set it up very professionally. I, on the other hand, photographed the only bubbles in my house at the moment and they came from the kitchen sink.8-C8-D0123-DF12-4684-8-B4-A-7-D2-F53-F5-D769

Day 21 – Today’s Dinner

…thanks to Leanne Cole for hosting the 30 Day at Home Challenge

Today’s theme is What’s for Dinner? I didn’t see this prompt until just now but luckily we took photos of our dinner because it was pizza night at Chez Cormier and we like to share with our family. Unfortunately this year we’re only able to share from a distance with photos.11018-DA5-EE69-4-C3-B-AC09-D921581138-FA

Day 18 – Inside Fun and Games

…thanks to Leanne Cole for hosting the 30 Day at Home Challenge

My husband is not much for board games but I might be able to entice him to play a game of scrabble. He is, however, keen to keep connecting with our kids and one way that we do that is with an App called House Party. We use it mainly to chat but there are games on the site such as trivia and drawing. Our four year old granddaughter particularly likes the drawing game.

Another game I’ve been playing with a friend is WordFeud. It’s a scrabble game that we play on our phones with each other.

Here are some screen shots of my inside games.B5443-AEB-AD8-E-416-A-9617-368133265-B81-1-201-a

Lens Artists Photo Challenge – Going Back

thanks to John Steiner for hosting this week’s Lens Artists Photo Challenge

I think we all appreciate photo challenges that don’t require going outside of our homes during this pandemic. We certainly aren’t travelling to exotic places but we can look back on trips we took in the past. Here are a few of my favourite trips over the last few years.

April 14th, 2020 and It’s Snowing

….reminds me of the story my mother used to tell of how she remembers snow on her birthday

I have a memory, as a little girl, of huge snowfalls in early April and when I was at university we experienced some serious ice storms in April.  My sister who lives in Calgary, Alberta experienced some major snowfalls over Easter and I’ve seen photos of friends from the west coast and the mid-west who are covered with the white stuff.  The only good thing about snow in April is that it doesn’t tend to stay around long. My mother’s birthday by the way was on April 18th.

The white stuff that is blowing around right now but probably won’t even stay on the ground but it does come as a bit of a shock when you’ve had a relatively snow free winter.

I didn’t get the camera in time to catch the mini blizzard we had and it really didn’t amount to very much. Today it is sunny and not a speck of snow anywhere.

30 Day at Home Challenge – Day 14

…I’ve finally caught up….today’s theme is Family

Thanks to Leanne Cole for hosting this fun challenge. Today we are suppose to photograph a family member. Since my husband and I are the only ones in our house right now, besides the dog, I decided to share this photo.  I took this on the weekend when I was feeling particularly sad. He brought a smile to my face while he was doing what he loves to do….cook for me.
