August Photo a Day Challenge – Abstract

….thanks to City Sonnet for hosting the https://citysonnet.wordpress.com/2020/08/01/august-photo-a-day-challenge-3/

I adore abstract painting. Yesterday I paid a visit to the AGO. I spent most of my time viewing the Diane Arbus Photography show but I did walk through the modern art section and took this photo of a Joyce Wieland abstract painting.

In a past post I told you about my husband’s renewed love of painting. There are days that he makes up to three paintings. Now that he’s starting to work on larger canvases he can only manage on painting before exhaustion takes over. Here are some more of his recent abstract pieces.

A Photo a Week Challenge – Tower

…thanks to Nancy Merrill for hosting the Photo a Week Challenge

Toronto has one of the most famous towers in the world. The CN Tower was the tallest standing structure in the world for decades.

The CN Tower held the record for the world’s tallest free-standing structure for 32 years until 2007 when it was surpassed by the Burj Khalifa, and was the world’s tallest tower until 2009 when it was surpassed by the Canton Tower. It is now the ninth tallest free-standing structure in the world and remains the tallest free-standing structure on land in the Western Hemisphere. Cooling Off in the Dog Days of Summer

…my Frances is getting old but she still enjoys a dip in the Lake

I love walking to the beaches over at Col. Sam Smith Park but Frances is finding the walk a little too long so I helped her into the car and we drove as close to the park entrance as possible. She must have sensed that we were going somewhere special because she walked quicker than she normally does.

She wasn’t disappointed. She headed straight for the water. Ah, heaven!5-B3-AF035-C493-451-B-B999-CAB8-C830-F36-B

Signs During COVID-19

…..for those who don’t know the 19 stands for the year the virus came to be

Here in Toronto we are just about to go to stage 2 which means that things will start to open with some restrictions, such as hair salons and outdoor patios. All around our neighbourhood there are signs that indicate that we still need to be careful, wear a mask and stay socially distant. They also show how this virus has impacted some families.
