Bright Paints

For my latest art project (courtesy of Carla Sonheim’s Year Long Class 2021) I had to paint the back of discarded art projects with colours that I wouldn’t normally put together. After these dried they were reassembled into little art journal books. I’ll post those very soon.

Bright Colours in the Village of Grimsby Beach

thanks to Becky B for hosting BrightSquare https://beckybofwinchester.com/2021/04/24/bright-square-24/

Yesterday my husband and I did a short road trip to the Grimsby Beach Village. This area next to Lake Ontario was originally a Methodist Camp in the 1800s and people came from all over Ontario and New York to spend part of their summers here.

In the early 1900s the tents were replaced with cabins and a couple of hotels were built to accommodate the growing number of tourists.

Today the homes are all privately owned but the community has decided to continue painting and decorating their houses in bright colours.

Bright Square – April 18, 2021

….today would have been Mom’s 90th birthday

Thanks to Becky B for hosting Bright Square for the month of April.https://beckybofwinchester.com/2021/04/18/bright-square-18/

A few days ago I posted a photos of my narcissus plants that were about to open up. I called it Bright Future because they symbolized the ongoing beauty that I should experience every spring from here on and be reminded of my Dad who recently passed away.

Two of the flowers have opened and the rest are taking their time but we’ve had a few cold days and I’m sure when it starts to warm up again the rest will follow.

Bright Side of Life

thanks to Becky B for hosting BrightSquarehttps://beckybofwinchester.com/2021/04/12/bright-square-12/

Children always see the bright side of most situations. Rain….that means puddles….that means getting on your rain boots, or not, and jumping into the water to make the biggest splash possible.

Thanks to my daughter and son-in-law for the last two photos that I’ve posted to BrightSquare. When I do get to see my granddaughter she always wears a mask and stays a least six feet away. Got my first vaccine yesterday and hope that in two to three weeks we can see each other again. Right now the whole province is in lockdown again.

More UpSquare Trees – January 30, 2021

….thanks to Becky B for hosting January Squares https://beckybofwinchester.com/2021/01/30/square-up-30/

I’ve posted an uprooted tree earlier in the challenge but this one is spectacular. We discovered it on our walk through Ball’s Falls Conservation Area. Another uprooted or fallen tree had an interesting hollowed out core and I found myself looking up into the hollows of this tree.

Half Way Up – January Squares

thanks to Becky B for hosting January Squares, https://beckybofwinchester.com/2021/01/28/square-up-28/

Yesterday I went back to High Park to get in some more steps. I had to make a delivery to a friend who is in a downtown hospital so I decided to drive home along Bloor St and stop at the park for a quick walk. The walk ended up being a lot longer than I meant it to be and I had to make a decision at some point as to whether take a short cut back to the car or go the long way round. The short cut involved taking that huge stairway up the hill that I posted about near the beginning of this challenge.

In the end I decided to take the stairs. About half way up I stopped to take a picture of my progress. When I finally got to the top of the stairs I counted 90 steps.
