Doodle Art – Stage Two

…..day 120 of 365 Days of Art challenge

I was up till the wee hours of the morning painting these two pieces with acrylic paint. I couldn’t stop until I was done. The only reason I didn’t proceed to stage three was because the paint needed to dry. Just as well; I had to get up early today to go to my volunteer job to bake about 100 loaves of bread.fullsizeoutput_6ffc

Doodle Art – Stage One

….day 119 of the 365 Days of Art challenge

The next project will probably take three days to complete. The first stage was to draw a large doodle onto a large piece of paper without looking at the paper and then do another one but use my non-dominant hand while looking at the paper. Stage two is to take acrylic paint and start painting both papers at the same time. After the paint has dried than you go onto stage three and add line detail with black and white pens.

Here is stage one:

Selfie Stick – 365 Days of Art

…..day 117

For this assignment I literally had to attach a pen to a stick and draw a self portrait. It was a lot of fun and once you realize that it will be less than perfect you can relax and let the pen go where the stick takes you.IMG_3039

I might try this again with a different size pen and with my hair down.

365 Days of Art – It’s Been Awhile

….day 114

It’s been way too long since I last posted some of my art. I finally completed an assignment given by Carla Sonheim last Friday. I had to go outside and collect items from nature and then bring them back and create a design using my found materials. Once that was done I used pencil to quickly draw the design and then oil pastels to add colour.

I quite enjoyed the process and am now ready to produce more daily art studies. I might even put some paint on the canvas that has been sitting on my drawing table for a couple of weeks now.

365 Days of Art – Quick Flower Sketches

…..days 111 to 113

I made these in my sketch book and I’m wishing I had done them on watercolour paper or used one of my sketch books with heavier paper. I also discovered that the black marker that I used bled a little when I added the watercolour but it is what it is and it’s all a learning experience.fullsizeoutput_6f87

365 Days of Art – Adding Colour and Collage

…..days 109 and 110

Once again I went back to one of my sketchbooks and added colour to one of my one-line drawings of cats and I added some collage detail. For the collage I spent some time creating some colourful art papers with oil pastels and then cut out droplet shapes. On the blank page in front of the cats I created collage piece using this paper.
