Water, Water Everywhere – Real Pond vs Weather Created Pond

….after a heavy downpour on Saturday the ground was so saturated that ponds appeared over the grass

The ducks loved it and enjoyed their new pond for at least a day. They aren’t that evident in my photos because they swam further away when I walked closer to the edge of the newly formed pond.

The Pond at Col. Sam Smith Park, after being almost completely drained of water a month ago has come back to its former self probably due to the heavy rainfall on the weekend. Sadly the day was still overcast but at least the rain had stopped.

On my walk today, it was very overcast but I still love the beauty in these dried leaves, milk weed pods and vines.

The Quilt Show at Neilson Park

if you have no plans for tomorrow and need something to do on a rainy day head over to Neilson Park….you won’t be disappointed

I haven’t done any quilting in years but I always like to see what people are up to in the quilting world. Not only were there great quilts to look at and buy but there were vendors in one room selling everything you would ever need to start your own quilt. In another room the Quilters Guild at Neilson Park were selling ready made items and selling off some surplus supplies for all kinds of crafters and artists. I bought buttons, laces, ends of fabric and numerous other things that I’m going to include in some of my collages.

The highlight of the show of course is the wonderful selection of quilts on display throughout the entire centre.

The show was well attended today and we met people who came all the way from Sudbury, North Bay, St. Catharines and Waterdown to attend the show. It is open again on Saturday from 10:00 till 5:00. You can enjoy some coffee, tea and sweet treats in the café and even try your luck at the raffle table.

Water, Water Everywhere – 168

thanks to Jez for hosting Water, Water Everywhere https://jezbraithwaite.blog/2023/03/20/clyde-reflections-water-water-everywhere-168/

I live by Lake Ontario so water is literally everywhere for me. Today I tried to capture the water from different angles.
