….day 90
A few days ago Carla Sonheim posted a prompt. It was a quote from the artist Pierre Bonnard. I have to admit that I had never heard of him before but he managed to make a living from his art in the early 1900s right up to the 1940s while living in France.
The quote was “One cannot have too much yellow”.
I decided to take a page of one-liner drawings and add some colour with paint and collage. I painted the background with yellow watercolours and then I cut up paper to add texture and visual interest to the flowers. After that I took markers and conte pencils and added more lines and squiggly detail.

…..365 Days of Art is moving forward
I get my inspiration from many different places. I’m inspired by all the artists that I follow on WordPress, by numerous on-line class instructors like Carla Sonheim and all the teachers at Creative Bug and finally from books.
Today’s inspiration came from Pam Garrison over at Creative Bug. The first step is to choose three colours of markers and create a rough patchwork of squares and /or rectangles. After that start drawing with a black fine tip marker different flowers for each section. You can use imaginary flowers or actual flowers or a combination of both.
….moving right along with my 365 Days of Art
Well after cutting out all those circles earlier in the week, it turns out that I didn’t need them for Carla’s assignment on Friday. So I took some of them and layered them on top of each other and then randomly glued some of them into my sketch book. Then the fun began as I added marks and colour to create imaginary flowers.
….thanks Cee but isn’t the letter V hard enough without having to make it at least 6 letters long?
verticillated: forming one or more whorls (especially a whorl of leaves around a stem)
Verticillated bark around the old tree.

….not sure what kind of insects these are
