Trios of Fun Labels and Bottles

from the Liquor Store

Welcome to Thursday Trios. As you can see you don’t have to post your trios on Thursdays. It’s been a busy week and I’ve been trying to catch up on watching as many Oscar nominated movies as possible before the awards ceremony on Sunday. I usually see one or two of the nominated movies but this year I’m determined to see at least six of them. So far I’ve seen 4 and have started a 5th.

On Tuesday and Wednesday I spent a good chunk of the day baking bread at the Inn and on Thursday I met a friend for lunch and then we went to an afternoon concert. I’ve also been trying to get out for longer walks and have been averaging 10 000 to 12 000 steps a day.

On my way home from the concert on Thursday I stopped at the liquor store to pick up some Guinness beer for a St. Patrick’s Day bread that I want to make and while I was there I noticed that there are many interesting bottles and wine labels. Here are some of my favourites.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge – Cars – Vintage, Toy and Very Small

Last summer, when we were in Calgary we dropped by an outdoor car show.

When Space Limitations Prevent a Contribution

thanks to Debbie for hosting Six Word Saturday https://travelwithintent.com/2024/03/02/winter-sun-battling-with-threatening-clouds/

I have never worked in a large format before and I was determined to give it a go. I bought two blank canvases that were 30″x40″ and when put together as one piece I would have met the minimum requirements for the show “A Large Art Affair”. When I got home and hauled the canvases to my small studio I realized that my small space wouldn’t allow me to paint on such a large surface. So for now, my purchase sits in the hallway outside my bedroom. I’m hoping in the summer when the weather warms up and we can open the outdoor studio again, my husband will let me share his space. The other option is to paint up at the cottage where I have lots of room.

In the meantime, the show “A Large Art Affair” has been installed and is now open to the public. Here is a sampling of what the Dignam gallery has in store for the visiting public.

In Like a Lamb…

out like a lion?

They say that if March begins with beautiful, sunny, and mild weather it will surely go out like a lion. In this climate that usually means cold, wintery weather. Hard to imagine this happening because our winter has been more like a west coast winter with mild temperatures and rain. It would be a cruel gesture on Mother Nature’s part to end the month with a blast of winter.
