….thanks to Becky B for hosting March Squares
I went to the Canada Blooms show today and found lots of spiky subjects for March Squares. Here’s the first of many.

….did you know that the poinsettia is actually a tree
I’m looking after my neighbour’s plants while she’s away. Two of them are white poinsettias and they don’t look very healthy. According to Becky B over at Life with B this is very normal in Feb/March when they normally lose all their leaves before summer. The individual flowers on one of the plants still look quite pretty.

….thank you Dad
My Dad was hinting at buying me chocolates for Valentine’s Day and I asked him not to. I also warned him that flowers are very expensive as well and it would be better to wait. On Sunday I took him to Costco with me because he loves to shop and there are things that he only likes to buy there. We usually split up and meet at the checkout. He was just ahead of me and I noticed that he had a bouquet of flowers in his basket. Thanks Dad.

Red is my all time favourite colour. I like to dress in red and I usually pick the red crayon first when I’m drawing with my granddaughter.

Orange and Pink? Together? Now that’s a challenge.
….the first collage using the moon papers
After cutting up some of the printed transparency film I started to arrange the shapes onto one of the papers that I thought would make a nice background. Before gluing the pieces down I took a photo so that I would know what order and where to glue the pieces when I was reassembling the abstract still life.

Once all the pieces where glued in place I started to add some detail with white, black, gold and green gel. I think it helped bring some life into the piece.
