Sign, Sign, Everywhere a Sign…..

……everywhere you look in my neighbourhood people have signs posted on their lawns

We’re in the middle of a federal election here in Canada so it’s not unusual to see party signs in front of people’s homes but people are somewhat hesitant to declare their support for one party over another this time around. Instead of political signs people are encouraging drivers to slow down, they want door to door mail service to continue and they are protesting the proposed extension of the Island Airport. One home owner wants dog walkers to keep their pets off their plants and has posted signs in front of his garden.

Here are a few signs that I came across on our walk this evening.

A Blue Woman and Coffins

Cee’s Odd Ball Photo Challenge 2015 – Week 23

……an impromptu visit to the museum earlier this week furnished me with some very odd ball photos for Cee’s Odd Ball Photo Challenge

The nice thing about having a membership to the museum or the art gallery is that you can walk in at anytime and spend as much or as little time as you want and not worry about getting your money’s worth. Last Monday after my husband’s procedure at a downtown hospital we met our oldest daughter and enjoyed a nice lunch with her and then proceeded to walk to the museum to see if there were any new exhibits. We checked out an exhibit of Mexican textiles and then discovered a floor with African and South American masks, tools, sculptures, paintings and other artefacts. The blue woman sculpture and the  specialty designed coffins from Ghana, I thought, made excellent photo subjects for this week’s odd ball challenge.

Cee’s Odd Ball Challenge 2015 – Week 22

…..I’ve wanted to shoot pictures of this store front for awhile

It started out with one mannequin out front and then quickly morphed to more, usually dressed in some hockey gear, plus a collection of sundry items like windmills and old chairs. I thought this was a perfect collection for Cee’s Odd Ball Challenge.

Cee’s Odd Ball Challenge – Week 14

….went for a walk to take photos of the swans and on the way I came across this tree looking down on me

I saw a flurry of seagulls and I put my camera down for a second and accidentally pushed the shutter button. The odd part of this photo is that it is completely in focus. IMG_4412
