….thanks to Norm for hosting Thursday Doors
Lunch, five wineries, tastings and great company. Today my daughter and daughter-in-law joined my husband and me and together we took a drive down to St. David’s in the Niagara region. I knew ahead of time that I wanted to take part in Norm’s door challenge so I packed my camera bag in search of some great doors and wine of course.
We started out at Ravine where we had a wonderful lunch first and then began our wine tasting adventure. All in all we went to five smaller wineries, tasted some fantastic wine and met some wonderful people who were very passionate about their products.

When visiting Buffalo I always make a wine run up to the Niagara Vineyards

It’s one of my favourite places to visit.

Lovely stuff. Niagara wine country has been on our to-do list for a while now. This just reminds me that I need to make it happen. Thanks for sharing these 🙂

It’s well worth the trip and you can’t possibly do it all in a day. We focused on the smaller wineries for this trip. Ravine makes great wine and they have a fantastic restaurant as well.

Lots of good doors there and hopefully some good wines as well. I haven’t been to the Niagara wineries, but we’ve been to those around the Finger Lakes of New York. The first time we visited, the wines weren’t that good, but the next time, there were some very nice ones!

The wines in this area have improved by leaps and bounds over the last 40 years. Many of them win international competitions. It’s definitely worth the trip.
