….during a snowstorm
Well I guess I’m exaggerating a bit but it was snowing and it was cold. When my husband said he wanted to walk in the snow and take some photos of the street I quickly put on my coat so that I could join him. I needed some more steps to get to my 10 000 step goal anyway.
It’s nice seeing some of the Christmas lights still on. This year people have decided that we need more colour and light in our lives because of COVID so many homes are still brightly lit in the evenings. It’s quite pretty against the snow.

Many of our neighbors have left up their holiday light displays. It’s pretty in the snow…but I find it especially cheering when the weather is gray and gloomy.

I completely agree. I usually disconnect the lights from the power source in February and take them down when the weather warms up. This year a memo went around the city encouraging people to keep the lights on to help lift people’s spirits.

Some really good atmospheric shots here. Do you have the iconic red telephone boxes, too?

Thanks Derrick. As for the the red telephone box, they are not common here. This one went up when a developer was renovating the hotel on the corner.

I think this is the winter to keep the lights up beyond Christmas. A bit of cheer.

I think about half of the neighbours would agree with you.

They grey days, cold and pandemic cabin fever just hit me today, and I’m sorry we took our lights down. I dressed warmly and went for a good walk. Wasn’t too cold, which was a saving mercy.

Walking always lifts me out of the winter doldrums, even on the coldest of days.
