I almost put up squirrels for this week. Wonderful photos.

There were at least three squirrels and two of them were grey. As you can see the grey ones were just too fast for me to capture with my camera.

Squirrels are so much fun to watch and their acrobatics are amazing.

My husband hates squirrels, partly because they eat sections of his garden. He’s always called them rats with good PR. On this day though, they were fun to watch for both of us.

Squirrels can be quite entertaining and sometimes a bit odd! Love your husband’s definition of them.

For the past few years there has been a concerted attempt here to eradicate grey squirrels as they are American imports and carry a disease that devastates the native red squirrel population. Measures were put in place around areas inhabited by red squirrels in an attempt to keep the greys out. There has been some success and environmentalists are hopeful of the recovery of the red squirrel population. Before that, though, the Botanic Garden in Edinburgh used to sell packets of nuts for visitors to feed the squirrels (grey), now nuts and squirrels have gone.
