I was a Londoner from the East End, Bethnal Green, now known as Tower Hamblets and on a Sunday we woud often take a walk through Victoria Park, our nearest largent park. This was in the fifties and sixties Of course the park still exists, but probably much different to my days. Actually your photo of “Clissold Park” also brought back a few memories from Hackney, which was next to Bethnal Green. I have now been living in Switzerland for the past almost 60 years and am quite happy to be here, although just a peek at Bethnal Green would be great again.

I’ll look into checking out Bethnal Green. We’re here for another 10 days.

It is next to the docklands area. I had two uncles that actually worked in the docks uploading the cargo on the ships that docked in.
