I don’t understand the photos.. They are amazing but look like there is something atop the sand that is casting shadows to the side.

No these patterns are created by underwater streams that come up on the beach and wash into the lake. There are no shadows here. The darkness comes from the sand being wet.

Wow! Amazing captures! I see so many things in the patterns. #1. Like liquid mercury and iron filament from a magnet. #2. A plant or vine growing upward. #3. my favorite, Ghidorah, three headed monster (Godzilla, King of Monsters)
