…before drawing butterflies in my next art piece I decided that maybe I should do some practice drawings first
Here is my first attempt at a butterfly. I think it is a bright idea to practise first. I discovered that adding colour after using my new fountain pen could be a problem because the ink from the pen bleeds when it comes in contact with water.

Carol, you are so talented. A little bleeding is good in a water color, isn’t it? I love it! π

I learned a long time ago to embrace the little mistakes in watercolour. Bleeding with ink can be a bit more dramatic and sometimes you want the ink to bleed. It adds shadow and depth to a painting.

Yes. I’ve never tried painting except in grade school. I’m a coloring girl, and not much of that. My dad was artistic, my mom the opposite, and I’ve fallen more on her side of the gene pool.

Marsha, I’ve never believed that being able to paint or draw is a gene pool thing. Some people have more of a natural inclination towards making art but like anything you’ll never get better if you don’t practise. If you love art take some lessons. You might surprise yourself. π

It would be a huge surprise. π Vince and I had a fun date at a local coffee shop one night where we learned to paint a specific picture. Neither of us turned out a prize winner, but we had fun. I gave our paintings to a local artist to repaint over when we moved. No room in the inn for them. π

I’m glad that you had fun. Maybe you can have more fun.

We will have to find an offer like that. In a small town that was a big event. There were probably thirty of us there.
