A Bright Idea

before drawing butterflies in my next art piece I decided that maybe I should do some practice drawings first

Here is my first attempt at a butterfly. I think it is a bright idea to practise first. I discovered that adding colour after using my new fountain pen could be a problem because the ink from the pen bleeds when it comes in contact with water.

      • Yes. I’ve never tried painting except in grade school. I’m a coloring girl, and not much of that. My dad was artistic, my mom the opposite, and I’ve fallen more on her side of the gene pool.

      • Marsha, I’ve never believed that being able to paint or draw is a gene pool thing. Some people have more of a natural inclination towards making art but like anything you’ll never get better if you don’t practise. If you love art take some lessons. You might surprise yourself. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • It would be a huge surprise. ๐Ÿ™‚ Vince and I had a fun date at a local coffee shop one night where we learned to paint a specific picture. Neither of us turned out a prize winner, but we had fun. I gave our paintings to a local artist to repaint over when we moved. No room in the inn for them. ๐Ÿ™‚
