…..from the Royal Winter Fair
I always enjoy looking at the prize winning produce at the Royal. This year did not disappoint. The giant pumpkins are always a big hit and there was a good variety of oversized root vegetables (some completely unrecognizable). This year there was also a display of perfectly formed vegetables that were grown in a greenhouse.
Large and Ugly
Uniform and Perfect

Poor ugly vegetables. Everyone laughs at them, no one loves them ๐

The photographs are excellent, the diversity of colors and textures is very interesting.
When I see in the market the vegetables of exaggerated size I suspect that they were cultivated in a very unnatural way, perhaps chemical fertilizer and things like that; Then no money comes out of my pocket for them.

Thank you for the compliment. I think these vegetables are grown strictly for the show. I suspect that the insides would be very woody and not great for eating anyway.
