For those of you who don’t know: the Bermondsey Beer Mile is a loose amalgamation of brewery bars and bottle shops, located along a stretch of railway arch that’s closer to two miles long nowadays. It is located close to London Bridge.
The most interesting parts for us were the painted doorways of the different bars.

Nifty artwork.

I think Kevin was a little disappointed but we found a place a little further away from here and we loved it. It was called Kernal.

Clearly a newcomer since my days in Bermondsey (the ’70s)

The first site opened in 2009 and now there are over 20 taprooms.

What a fun post! I loved seeing these doors. The mini-murals are intriguing. I’d have a hard time passing by too many of these.

This was one of the places my husband wanted to see and he took us the long way around to see it. When we finally found it, he had another place in mind and when we found that it was closed. On the upside we found another beer place called Kernal. It is Japanese and was wonderful. Our favourite part was the Japanese Burnt Cheesecake with Miso Caramel served with a stout. Amazing.

Looks like a pleasant walk even if you don’t want a pint

It was very interesting to see but we didn’t check out the menus. It would be a fun place to check out with a group of friends.
