…It’s been a pretty rainy summer so far but the last few days have set records
I don’t mind rain, especially when it falls at night but when it comes down in buckets during the day and day after day, it starts to get depressing. Today I think we set a record for the 5th highest day for accumulation in the last 100 years. Luckily our basement stayed dry but many people weren’t as lucky and to top it off the power went off across the city. We only had to endure an outage for 1 1/2 hours but my daughter was without power for over 6 hours. For awhile our backyard looked like a lake but when I got around to taking photos there were only a few puddles left.

One of the rainiest summers that I can remember but not as bad as 1992. At the end of that summer the canvas gave way on our camper and all the rain water ended up at the end of our bed. It also happened to be my birthday.

I hope it gets better. In our region a heatwave has started, it supposed to get hotter by 1° every day. Let’s wait and see …

As I get older I can’t abide the heat but this weekend there was no rain and the temperatures were perfect up at the cottage. I even went swimming in the lake…twice.

Your backyard looked like a lake? Must have been crazy…the weather here’s super hot. Wrote about it today. I ‘d say it’s a worrying kind of hot.

I think I’d rather have rain than super hot weather. We don’t have air conditioning but living by the lake has helped immensely. Climate change is definitely a factor.
