….a visit to Blois to see Chateau Royal de Blois
The interesting part of this castle is that it has four wings from four different eras and in four different styles, arranged around the same courtyard.
From the Outside

Inside the Courtyard

Inside the Château

The wing remained an empty shell covered by an impressive oval dome…..the wing now houses temporary exhibition rooms
In the next post I will share the gardens and the views from the château.
Glad your enjoying the chateaux

Such a beautiful place. I am amazed by how detailed all of the decorations are. That golden porcupine made me laugh.

I’m going to have to go back and check out the golden porcupine. How did I miss that?

It’s hard to believe that I hated studying history in school. Now I love it and after teaching history to grade five students it’s so nice to see castles and historical sites first hand.

It was a lovely little town. We were there on Easter Monday so everything except the the cafes was closed. I had the most expensive hot dog I’ve ever eaten there. It was tasty though.
