I slipped on the steps of my deck at the cottage two weeks ago and smashed my shin onto the edge of the step. It’s still sore and bruised but getting better. Things take so much longer to heal at our age. We can be a mess together.
I’m so sorry, Carol. Shins are so sensitive and take longer to heal anyway. I am going to have surgery on my knee in about 10 days to repair a torn meniscus. YAY! I thought I was unrepairable, but the MRI showed otherwise.
I was watching Alone yesterday – We can get Season 7 for free. One of the survivalists had surgery in his teens or 20s. He injured his knee during the first two weeks and had exactly the same injury I had. He had to tap out. Seven months later he’s still doing therapy. Yikes! I think he had some other involvement than his meniscus, though. Other than the cyst behind my knee, that’s it for me! Yay! Today – very little pain. Babying helps. 🙂
It takes a bit before I get addicted. I was addicted to Silent Witness – 21 seasons of it! Whew. I’m not quite there yet with Alone, though I do marvel at how these individuals can cope with the wilds of such a harsh climate.
I love it!

Thanks Sheree. Those orange flowers are especially vibrant and sometimes they are difficult to photograph.

Some of their veins look almost as bad as mine, yet theirs are beautiful. What gives?

It is healing now, but I was a purple mess. Now I have twisted my left knee playing pickleball so I’m just a plain old mess.

Good luck with that. It seems to be a pretty common surgery. I had three friends all younger than me have that surgery when they were in there 50s.

I’ve only seen the last two seasons of Alone. I’m not sure I can get the earlier ones. I’ll have to dig deeper and see if I can find them.
