100 Day Museum

…..today we celebrate the 100th day of school

Every year the grade 1s make projects that contain 100 objects to celebrate the 100th day of school. Today they hosted the 100 Day Museum and invited their parents and all the students in the school to come and enjoy their projects. Here are a few of the highlights.

  1. These are done by 1st graders?! I for one am really impressed at both the creativity and execution! I’d be hard-pressed to say which one appealed to me most – the crayons? the goldfish? the comics? Nicely done!!

      • LOL – I remember those days very well. We used to have ‘discussions’ with the boys’ teachers because we were told the parents were EXPECTED to help with their kid’s assignments.

      • We frequently have discussions about how much help is too much. When the projects are evaluated most of us now do 90% of the work in the classroom. If the project comes back vastly different from what was done in class we know that the parents’ involvement was over the top and we evaluate mostly what was done in class. After all, the parents already completed elementary school a long time ago. If the students can talk about their projects intelligently and have obviously learned something that is a different story.
