I had to chuckle when I read this! I thought these were beautiful as a child too. However, in Iowa we had to “walk soybeans” as a child. This consisted of walking down 100s of miles of rows of soybean fields to cut weeds out of them. This was one of the natural “weeds” that we had to cut out of the fields so they didn’t choke out the beans. 🙂 Sunflowers were also in this category. LOL
