…thanks to Snow for hosting Friendly Friday
We often hear ‘get out of your comfort zone’ if you want to get ahead in life. On these cold, windy days I just want to stay in my comfort zone rather than brave the elements. Yesterday (Friday) was one of those days. My husband was feeling somewhat better and we decided to treat ourselves to a meal. The question that arose was: stay in and order take-out or go out to a restaurant?
We chose to go out. We definitely went ‘out of our comfort zone’. Even dressing warmly didn’t help us against the 90km winds. I can’t remember tackling winds like that in my lifetime. We could barely open the car door to get out. My husband removed his hat before the wind blew it away and we slowly crossed the street to the restaurant. The other thing we had to navigate were sheets of ice on the road and the sidewalk. We took baby steps which is apparently how one is suppose to walk on ice.
In the restaurant we were definitely in our comfort zone. Unfortunately I didn’t take any photos even though the meal was excellent. I’ve gone through my gallery of photos to find other occasions when I was in my comfort zone along with some of my family.

Wow what a beautiful day it seems was had by all. I love your dog! ❤

These photos were taken over several months and none from Friday. We love Frances as well but she’s getting old and starting to have difficulty getting around.

Oh, those cute little kids!! Braving the winds is definitely out of my comfort zone, too – unfortunately it’s very windy where I live! Glad you were happy with your decision and the restaurant didn’t disappoint!
Was that novel good, by the way?

I really enjoyed it. We read it for book club and I was the discussion leader. It’s about the son of a famous artist (fictional) who can’t seem to impress his father with his own art so he goes into teaching. Over the years his father has many wives and many children and continues to make art but refuses to sell his work. It’s a quirky story but I really liked it. Near the end the son discovers that he is quite a good artist and the story takes on an interest twist.

It definitely wasn’t pleasant to meander outside yesterday.

No kidding. I was out earlier with my father because he had a doctor’s appointment. I thought the wind was going to knock him off his feet. The wind tunnels in some areas were unbelievable.

They are. The cross section near us is on a little hill and the winds there can be wicked at times.

We went to The Rough Social House down by Humber Bay Shores. The sun came out today but it’s still cold.
